Each major scale has a relative minor scale. They both use the same notes but start from different places. The relative minor begins on the 6th note of the major scale, and the relative major begins on the 3rd note of the minor scale. Even though the notes are the same, the sound feels different major scales usually sound bright and happy, while minor scales sound deeper and more emotional.

Learning relative majors and minors makes it easier to move between scales without changing the key signature. This helps in playing songs, improvising, and understanding music more clearly. For flute learners, it is a simple way to expand your playing and add more variety to your practice while using the same set of notes.
